Scott Muelrath has served as the President and CEO of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce (HCC) since 2011. Under his leadership, the HCC has seen significant growth, tripling its valley-wide membership to over 2,000 members as of June 2024, and increasing its operating budget by more than 400%.
Muelrath is an active community leader, serving on the City of Henderson Mayor’s Economic Development Task Force and as a Board member of the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance. Within the Chamber, he holds key roles, including Secretary and Executive Board member of the HCC, Executive Board member of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and Executive Board member of the Henderson Development Association, a private sector economic development committee.
In 2023, Governor Joe Lombardo appointed Scott as Chair of the Government Reform Policy Committee and Nevada State University honored him with the President’s Medal. The previous year, he received the Urban Entrepreneurial Spirit Award from the Nevada District office of the U.S. Small Business Administration and received the title of Non-Profit Executive of the Year at the 29th Silver State Awards. He also took on the role of Chair for the newly formed Nevada State Campus Lands Corporation, supporting Nevada State University in developing land usage in alignment with its academic plan.
In 2018, Mr. Muelrath spearheaded the launch of the most successful chamber-led association health plan in the country, the CCHPA, which earned him the LVGEA’s Partnership Award. He successfully adapted this model to meet new regulations in 2021, offering essential healthcare options to small businesses. Today, the HCC’s association health plans, fully insured and ACA compliant, provide coverage for over 500 businesses and approximately 11,000 individuals—a service unmatched in the state of Nevada.
During the pandemic, Mr. Muelrath led the HCC’s rapid shift to virtual content, establishing the Chamber as a crucial source of information for businesses and the community. His advocacy, in collaboration with other chambers and government agencies, ensured that economic relief was accessible to countless small businesses and non-profits. He also introduced innovative and measurable programs within the Chamber, including ‘Community Cares,’ which mobilizes volunteers and resources for charities in need, and ‘I CAN BE,’ a career fair program in partnership with local high schools.
