The HCC supports a pro-business climate that allows for job growth and economic diversity, which is imperative to our continued economic growth and success. The committee focuses its advocacy efforts in the following areas:
The HCC supports tax policies that stimulate growth, innovation, job creation and support regulations that provide businesses with certainty and flexibility.
The HCC supports economic growth through diversification, workforce development, access to capital, public-private collaboration and proper land-use policies to support a vibrant economy and ability to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for businesses. The HCC supports projects and policies that develop and improve infrastructure in the areas of communications, energy, water and transportation as critical assets that benefit all businesses and promote job growth and livability in Henderson.
The HCC supports enhanced education and skilled workforce efforts that aim to produce a well-educated, well-trained Nevada workforce for tomorrow’s business needs while also supporting education measures that appeal to existing, expanding and relocating businesses.
The HCC supports meaningful healthcare reform and education curricula support aimed at addressing better health outcomes, enhance individual experience of care, reduce per capita cost of care, and support quality of life measures that appeal to existing, expanding and relocating businesses.
The Legislative Committee works together with our lobbyist to convey the voice of Southern Nevada’s business community to our state representatives during the legislative session. The committee maintains and tracks a robust watch list of bills its finds are significant to the needs of member businesses. Our lobbyist communicates those policy priorities and positions to legislators and other key stakeholders.
