About HDA

Protecting Our Growing Henderson Economy

The Henderson Development Association (HDA), as the economic development arm of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, is committed to growing the primary job base in Henderson by attracting, retaining, expanding and diversifying the business community.

What We Do

As a committee, the HDA meets monthly to discuss and take action on issues and initiatives that will further its mission. The HDA supports the efforts of the City of Henderson's Economic Development Department, focusing on workforce development and retention by proactively identifying and servicing business clusters within the community. The committee monitors the Governor's initiatives for statewide economic development and diversification efforts, and acts on members' behalf by representing Henderson in these regional meetings.

The HDA uses the membership base to effectively mobilize resources to assist in recruitment and retention of businesses or resolution of relevant issues. Members use the HDA as a resource and representative to act on their behalf to resolve development issues with government institutions, such as the City of Henderson Development Services, Fire Department, Clark County and the State of Nevada. HDA members are informed, educated and offered involvement opportunities to address current events or policy developments that can impact the business community.

About HDA Intro Image

The HDA manages three local business assistance programs:

  1. One-on-one visitation program, which works with the City, HDA and HCC Board to identify and visit with businesses in Henderson to proactively address workforce development and business retention issues (biweekly);
  2. Henderson On-Board, which focuses on workforce development by assisting companies with their new employees and introducing them to the Henderson community (bimonthly);
  3. Henderson Annual Economic Development Awards, which recognizes local businesses who have added new jobs and/or new facility growth, and honors and selects the Person of the Year in the public and private sectors (annually in November in conjunction with the HCC Small Business Awards).
