Nic Steele, Executive Director

Mr. Nic Steele is the executive director of Access Community Capital Inc., a community loan fund providing affordable capital to small businesses primarily located in Southern Nevada. Access Community Capital is a minority led mission driven organization directed by entrepreneurs who understand the plight of business ownership.

As an entrepreneur, Mr. Steele, knows firsthand how lack of access to affordable capital can adversely affect the trajectory of a business, stifling its growth potential. While also investing in other entrepreneurs, Mr. Steele is focused on changing the landscape of opportunity for underserved populations by operating Access Community Capital as a Community Development Financial Institution, driven to address the inequities present in the lending landscape.

Prior to managing Access Community Capital, Mr. Steele was the visionary and founder of Eclipse Theaters, the only black-owned luxury movie theater in the country. In 2016, Mr. Steele built the 72,000-sffacility as an upscale movie-dining experience in Las Vegas. The Eclipse Theater venue featured 8 screens, 550 seats offering reserve seating, wait service, suite boxes, event space, as well as a separate bar/lounge, and restaurant. Because of his vision,Eclipse Theaters operated as much more than a theater, hosting over 200 annual events, supporting over 120 non-profits and community organizations. Mr. Steele is most proud of having hosted President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as other presidential candidates, celebrities, and dignitaries.

Prior to managing Eclipse Theaters, Mr. Steele was the Chief Financial Officer responsible for building/overseeing the finance and real estate groups for the Downtown Project, a $350 million investment group revitalizing Downtown Las Vegas, in coordination with Tony Hsieh’s relocation of Zappos headquarters.

His finance background began a bit earlier as an Equity Derivatives Synthetic Finance Trader managing over $25B of balance sheet and inventory for a major wall street firm.

Nic Steele is most excited about his current role as both a lender and business advisor to entrepreneurs developing their own ideas into successful companies.
